As of June 29th, 2018, all internet connected devices were upgraded to new security standards, known as Transport Layer Security (TLS). Open the Google Play Store app on your Android device and search for the NOOK in the Apps section of the Google Play Store. The sort menu is a pull-down menu that lets you sort the content shown on the screen according to rules such as Most Recent, Title (an alphabetical listing of titles), or Author (an alphabetical listing of authors’ last names). The category menu (sometimes called the filter menu) is a pull-down menu in the upper left corner of the Library and lets you select the Library contents you want to display. To help you quickly find what you’re looking for, the Library on your NOOK features a couple of dropdown menus that let you select which contents to display and how to display them.

If you did not receive a prompt, check your browser download history to locate the file and copy it into the MyNOOK folder. If prompted, select Save As and select the MyNOOK device referenced in Step 1, and click Save. From your computer, locate your device below and click the Download link for the required software update file. Once connected, open My Computer (Windows) or Finder (Mac) to locate and confirm the connected device named MyNOOK. Power on your NOOK device and connect it to your computer via USB cable. Android Tablets & Phones not included in list below will require Android OS 4.4.2 or higher and the latest version of the NOOK app from the Google Play Store.
Barnes & Noble NOOK App for Android – Download and Install
Your Library lists all of your previous purchases and free samples, and has features for you to manage your content quickly and easily. EBooks purchased on bn.com will automatically sync to your NOOK Library. B&N Audiobook subscriptions and digital newsstand subscriptions are not eligible to contribute to the total purchase amount considered for stamp issuance. You can also read eBooks by using the Barnes & Noble NOOK App on iOS and Android devices or on bn.com using NOOK for Web. Purchases are stored in your NOOK Cloud™ and can be read on any NOOK device that is registered to your bn.com account.
Having trouble connecting to your NOOK?
For purchases on bn.com, stamps are earned for every $10 increment spent. Your order number will appear, and the eBook is now available in the NOOK Library of the account with which you made the purchase. If you purchase eBooks with a different account than what is registered to your NOOK Device/App, the titles will not appear in your Library. If your NOOK Device is not updated to meet these new TLS security standards, you will not be able to make any purchases, or download and manage your NOOK Content from your NOOK Device.
Using NOOK for Web
- A notification appears confirming that the title was added to your Shopping Cart.

Premium and Rewards Members earn stamps on purchases of eBooks, audiobooks not purchased with a subscription credit, and single-issue magazines/newspapers. Synchronizing your NOOK downloads any books and periodicals that you have purchased from the NOOK Shop while using another device, such as another NOOK, a smartphone, or a tablet, registered to the same account. NOOK Devices and Apps cannot be used to apply rewards to digital content purchases.

Go through the checkout process and click “Submit Order” when you are ready to complete your purchase. When you check out, sign in to the bn.com account that is registered to your NOOK Device/App. Click “View Shopping Cart” to begin checkout, or click “Continue Shopping” to search for other titles you want to purchase. A notification appears confirming that the title was added to your Shopping Cart.
Picks added to your Wishlist on NOOK Apps and Devices seamlessly carry over to bn.com for you to purchase later. Since you have a default credit card stored on your bn.com account, clicking on “Instant Purchase” will immediately complete your order. If you have enabled the Instant Purchase option on your bn.com account, you can also checkout using the “Instant Purchase” link.
Buying eBooks and Other Digital Content
Save memory and space in your Library by Archiving unused content. You can access your NOOK Library nook at any time by signing in on bn.com, your NOOK App, or on your NOOK device.
Barnes & Noble NOOK App for Android – Download and Install
Rewards can only be used to purchase eBooks and individual digital magazines, newspapers, and Audiobooks by adding the items to your cart and checking out on bn.com. In addition to books, you can also start free 14-day trials of popular magazines and newspapers, and purchase B&N Audiobooks, all of which are accessible using the Barnes & Noble NOOK App. Synchronizing also downloads any purchases of NOOK content you may have made on the Web at bn.com. To purchase new books for the Barnes & Noble NOOK App for both iOS and Android, visit bn.com in your device’s web browser (Safari/Chrome or other) or on a desktop/laptop computer. The Barnes & Noble NOOK App does not have a Shop feature to purchase content directly through the app.
